I~$p~~ j~ ~ ITUCa~a{3'S Restaurant on Algi Drive in Dona, a successful establishment that has been in my
family for over 3~ years.
P~RiCER RANG 4~Ihile I wrongly oppose -any new laws restricting flee freedom of citizens of this country I do
~ also value employees atad their health. V~Iith this in mind I am supporting this bill that
~ ~ would protect-:them from the harnafial effects of secondhand tobacco smoke while thhey are at
work. I ash that you support flats important legislation as-well, Below I have listed a few
~~;:><<. comments for your consideration before approving this important bill.

1. I do not feel it is necessary to restrict smoking in establishments when the entire area
as°i tam , ~ a~ is located in the open air. I believe that the health risk in this kind of an environment

2. I doaa't think that small businesses, food service establishments with :limited seating,
private baaaquets; private clubs, etc, should be exegt ford this-law. If dais bail is
truly one>to protect employees we axaaast reagaetnb~x ~ all these liusiriesses-will most
~ likely require employees to sea vice their clients or guests. These employees have a
right to the same protections- asany-other employee.
~ 3. I have been following the track of smoke free restaaarant information, both on the
a$aainland-and an I3awaii. I am confident that oin smoke free will not have a serious

adverse affect on business.
