Dear Ms. Pisicchio,
I am sorry for this late communication, but I feel it is important. Please convey it to the
other Committee members.
The Disability Rights Hawaii monthly General Meeting just ended at 2:00 PM today. In
this meeting we discussed the Council bill to protect the public from second hand smoke which
will come before your Committee at 3:00 Plvl.
The meeting was unanimously in favor of such a bill. Many disabled people are
prohluited from moving about in public just because of the hazards do their health of second
hand smoke. In many cases, this smoke is an immediate danger to them, because of
compromised respiratory systems.
Tlie desires of some citizens to smoke should not be allowed to harm the health of other
citizens. Please pass this bill.
