Your Committee on Finance. to which ~~as referred Communication No. 738. reports as i~~llo~~~s:
Communication No. 738. transmitted by Director of Finance William ~hakaba, dated
September 9, 2002, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Honomu Village
Association.
The Honomu Village Association has graciously donated two picnic tables to the Department of
Parks & Recreation for public use at Honomu Park. The value of the donation is estimated at
$400.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII. Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter. the Council. on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30. Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, anv
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of~
finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Honomu Village Association. Jude Mattos. President.
P.U. Box 394, ~Jonomu, Hawaii 96728, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the two picnic tables ti~om the
Honomu Village Association.
