Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Resolution No. 24 ~-02, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 243-02, transmitted by Finance Director William Takaba, via Communication
No. 743, dated September 1 1.2002, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiiscal year and of
more than one fiscal year for amulti-year maintenance agreement for the automated booking
system at the Hilo and Kona Police Stations.
The Hawaii County Police Department wishes to enter into atour-year maintenance agreement
with Sagem Morpho, Inc. for the automated booking system at the Hilo and Kona Police stations.
Funds would be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1, Hawaii County Charter, any contract. lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must he approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 243-02
and recommends its adoption.
