REQUEST: To accept an award of 4 software packages from ESRI for use by Civil Defense B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED) 4 software packages (including Arc Info, Arc View, Arc Pad, Arc Map) and training (virtual web classes) was given by ESRI to promote the development of basic technology through its Critical Data Infrastructure Grant Program under the ESRI Homeland Security Grant Series. The total estimated value is $22,000. ESRI stipulates that data be developed for the purpose of defending the community associated with planning and mitigation efforts. The packages will help in the current development of the County of Hawaii Hazard Mitigation Plan. As you know the ESRI Homeland Security Critical Data Infrastructure Program Grant was created to provide assistance in the establishment of GIS data required to support your homeland security efforts. Your acceptance of the provisions of the grant award will benefit your organization by increasing efficiency and facilitating dissemination of your data. One (1) license of ArcView 8 GIS for Windows software 3. One (1) license of ArcPad software 4. One (1) license of ArcGIS StreetMap USA software 5. EBIS Demographic Data 6. Two (2) Introduction to ArcView GIS Courses via ESRI's Virtual Campus 7. Two (2) Introduction to Arclnfo GIS Courses via ESRI's Virtual Campus The software comes with our standard technical support and maintenance agreements. Please refer to the license agreements in order to review the full details. Maintenance of ESRI is assumed and becomes the responsibility of the grant recipient after the first year. Renewal of the software maintenance fees is not required unless the grant recipient desires to continue the technical support and software maintenance. We encourage you to take advantage of your local ESRI user groups and state data clearinghouse efforts as a means of connecting with organizations that have similar interests.
