WH~Ft~AS, SRI has provided four (4) software packages (Arclnfo, ArcView, ArcPad, and Arc
GIS StreetMap USA) and training (virtual web classes) to the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency;
and
Wl~~~IEAS, ESRI has given these items to promote the development of basic technology
through its Critical Data Infrastructure Grant Program under the SRI Homeland Security Grant
Series; and
WH~I~Im,AS, SRI has stipulated that data be developed for the purpose of defending the
community associated with planning and mitigation efforts; and
WH~R~AS, the packages will help in the current development of the County of Hawai`i's
Hazard Mitigation Plan; and
WFi~R~AS, the total estimated value of the software is $22,000; and
WH~R~~S, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WH~R~e4S, the Civil Defense Agency recommend the acceptance of this donation.

that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this award.

the Departments of Finance and Data Systems and the Civil Defense Agency.
