SAMPAIA OF COUNCIL DISTRICT 2 TO THE VETERANS ADVISORY COMMITTEE From Mayor Harry Kim, dated October 3 l , 2002. submitting for confirmation the appointments of Charles R. Mayes and Gilbert P. Sampaia to the Veterans Advisory Committee. Mr. Mayes is a 28-year resident of Hawaii. He is a member of the Democratic Party, and if confirmed, will represent the Hawaii Island Veterans Memorial, Inc. (HIVM) and will serve a term ending on December 3 l , 2007. Mr. Sampaia is a nine-year resident of Hawaii and is currently self= employed in the electronics repair business, and if confirmed, will represent the Big Island Retired Military Association (BIRMA) and the HIVM, and will serve a term ending on December 31, 2007. Attached is a letter from Riley Smith, Chair, Environmental Management Commission, stating that the Commission unanimously passed a motion to recommend approval of the resolution and also Res. 256-02, the Komohana Heights Subdivision Sewer Extension resolution.
