Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 258-02, reports as tollows:
Resolution No. 258-02, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba. via Communication
No. 793, dated October 21.2002, authorizes the acceptance of an award from ESRI.
ESRI has provided four software packages (Arclnfo, ArcView, ArcPad, and Arc GIS StreetMap
USA) and training (virtual web classes) to the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. The value
of the software is estimated at $22,000.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council. on behalf of t11e
County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 258-02
and recommends its adoption.
