Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 791, reports as follow°s:
Communication No. 791, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba. dated
October 21.2002, requests the acceptance of a monetary donation from the Uhana hcauhou
Beach Resort. The Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort has graciously donated $250.00 to he used to
purchase materials and supplies to promote education and safety during lire Prevention Week to
the Hawaii County lire Department.
Pursuant to Article XIII. Section 13-12. Hawaii County Charter. the Council on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2. Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), ofthe Hawaii County Code. any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of
finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort, 78-6740 .Ali'i Urive.
Kailua-Kona. Hawaii 96740, acknowledging these generous donations.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $250.00 donation from the
Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort.
