RE: Bill #62: Post-Harvest Treatment Facility
I support Mayor Stephen Yamashiro's request for a Post-Harvest
Treatment Facility.
An irradiation facility here on the Big Island would benefit
the community immensely with regard to increase of jobs,
economic growth due to our produce and meats being shipped
out of the state and country and also helping in preventing
spoilage of the commodity.
Foods are not made radioactive by irradiation.
This would be a tremendous step in helping the agriculture
industry of our state.
