Dear Council Members:
The officers and boazd of directors of the Hawaii Florists and Shippers Association
unanimously support an irradiation pest defestation facility in Hilo.
Our organization was established in 1948 and we represent over 300 members state wide
in the tropical flowers and foliage industry. For us to maintain and increase our competitive
advantage in a diversified agricultural market, we need to utilize all available technologies. We
believe this new facility will do just that.
Please vote YES on April 24th.
