Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 756 and attached Bill No. 262, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 227 is to amend Chapter 24, article 10, division 7, section 24-291.01, schedule
39.01 (2 hour meter parking zones), relating to Vehicles and Traffic of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(1995 Edition), by establishing a new 8-hour parking meter zone at the Aupuni Center fronting Kilauea
Avenue and new two-hour parking areas along the Northwest (Pauahi Street) and Southwest (Kilauea
Avenue) sides of the Aupuni Center Building. Communication No. 756 is from Dennis Lee, Director.
Department of Public Works, dated September 23, 2002, transmitting the above bill for the Council's
review and consideration.
Bill No.262 was introduced by the Department of Public Works in place of Bill No. 227 regarding the
same matter (Report No. 56). At this meeting, no discussion occurred regarding Bill No. 262.
A motion to approve Bill No. 262 died for the lack of a second. Therefore, Your Committee on Public
Works and Intergovernmental Relations transmits Bill No. 262 to the Council with a negative
recommendation.
