Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Ralph D. Black of
Hilo to serve on the Liquor Adjudication Board to replace
Gloria P. Bartalome of Kona, whose term had expired on
December 30, 1996.
Mr. Black is a 43-year resident of Hawaii and since 1987, has
been self-employed as an attorney-at-law. He is active in
community affairs having membership to the Hilo Rotary Club and
the Hospice Advisory Council. He states that he is not a
member of any political party.
If approved, Mr. Black will serve a term to end December 31,
2001. Should the Council have any questions regarding this
nomination, you may contact me at your convenience.
