Dear Chairman Arakaki and Members:
It is my pleasure to submit for your confirmation the appointment of Bruce C. McClure as
County of Hawaii Director of Public Works pursuant to the Charter of the County of Hawaii.
This appointment will be effective on January 1, 2003.
Mr. McClure has been employed by the Department of Water Supply of the County of
Hawaii from 1998 to the present. From 1984 to 1990, he served as the Deputy Chief
Engineer for the County of Hawaii, and from 1990 to 1993 was the County's Chief Engineer.
He has also worked for the State Department of Transportation. His resume is attached for
your information.
Mr. McClure will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end on
December 6, 2004. Thank you for your favorable consideration of this appointment.
