Enclosed for your review and approval is a resolution transferring appropriating $2,000 out and
from the Clerk/Council Services-Contingency Relief, account number 010-101-5 I O L91-341 and
crediting the same to Parks and Recreation Department, Elderly Activities Division, Elderly
Recreation Services, Miscellaneous Contract Services, account number 010-500-5519.72-1 I5.
The balance of the Clerk/Council Services-Contingency Relief is $12,411. l3.
fhe Kailua Seniors of the Hale Halawai will be celebrating a special 38"' anniversary luncheon
on March 5, 2003. The event will encompass all of West Hawaii and will target between 300 to
500 senior citizens. Mayor Kim and Director of Parks and Recreation Patricia Englehard have
approved this transfer.

Re: Transfer of Funds from County Council Contingency Fund
The Kailua Seniors of Hale Halawai will be celebrating the 37th year of existence
of their senior club this coming year, 2003, on March 5th by having a special
celebration. Program plans are being organized for this event in conjunction with
the Elderly Activities Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the
Kailua Seniors. The Kailua Seniors have requested funds from the county
council to support this project. Their request was approved and we have been
informed by Rodney Oshiro of the Legislative Auditor's office of the availability of
the funds to be transferred into our account.
We are requesting the transfer of funds from the contingency fund to our
account: Department of Parks And Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, Elderly
Recreation Services, 010-500-5519.72-115 account, miscellaneous contract

Re: Resolution No._ ~ ~ _ relating to the transferring/appropriating of funds tier
of $2,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council, of the
County of Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above
referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full council for
immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda
for review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I
understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on Finance for placement on its
future agenda.
