Comm. 7: FLOODING CONCERNS OF DAN A. COLE
Letter to Councilman James Arakaki from Dan A. Cole, dated November 18, 2002,
bringing to his attention a potential flooding disaster waiting to happen in his district.
States, as a result of Flood Debris Removal Project P-3535, the Palai Stream bed
between Kilauea Avenue and Kino`ole Street, was filled in and the stream path
altered. Informs that this has been confirmed by information obtained from the Hilo
office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Transmits a letter from the
Public Works Department dated February 20, 2002, which identifies the area of
concern and the debris in the stream bed, and hopes the hazard can be corrected
before damage occurs.

(Addins the Mohouli Street Extension to the appropriate 35 and 45 mnh sections)

transmitting the above bill. The amendment conforms to the approved Mohouli
Street Extension project construction plans and specifications for Federal Aid Project
No. STP-2790(1).
