Comm. 12: MARIJUANA ERADICATION MISSION REPORT FOR TI IE MONTH OF
OCTOBER 2002
From Acting Police Chief Lawrence K. Mahuna, dated November 21, 2002, transmitting
the above report of marijuana eradication missions on October 21-23, 2002 in East
Hawaii and on October 28-30, 2002 in West Hawaii, as required by Resolution 46-O1.
The attached reports indicate the number of plants eradicated and the number of
complaints received from the public, the type of complaint and the complaint disposition.

and Appraisals of County of Hawaii Bridges project for $52,000 to the Capital Budget)

bill. As part of the qualifications for obtaining Federal Highway funds for roadway and
bridge repairs and construction, the County is required to maintain aCounty-wide bridge
inspection program.

resolution and bill. The funding to the Department of Research and Development (R&D)
is to address the number of cruise ships calling at Hawaii ports. States R&D. through its
Tourism program, currently provides small grants to Hawaii County greetings programs
at Hilo Harbor. Kailua Pier and Kona International Airport.

ENDING JUNE 3Q, 2003 (by appropriating an additional $1,500 for the Sexual Assault
Nurse Examiner (SANE) grant)

bill. The State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and .lustice
Assistance Division is providing funding to hire a sexual assault nurse examiner
coordinator to manage and coordinate this program.

system. This relocation will transfer the department from a 2 ghz to a 6 ghz system.
