Re: Operating Budget
The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation is providing an additional funding of
$6,338 to the Hawaii County Police Department to purchase computer equipment for the
Commercial Driver License (CDL) Program. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending
the Operating Budget by appropriating the funds into a CDL equipment account.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Police Department.

The Department of Transportation is providing additional funding to purchase 2 personal computers, printers,
APC and software for the Commercial Driver License (CDL). One system will be the Kona Driver License
Section and the other at the Public Safety Building, Driver License Section.

Dear Mr. Minaai:
This acknowledges the October 18, 2002, telephone conversation between Ms. Naomi
O'Dell and Ms. Peggy Umetsu, regarding the re-submittal of a request to pwchase three
personal computer workstations and printers. The upgraded equipment will support ow
commercial driver's license program. We initially received approval on April 17, 2001,
but, we could not meet certain administrative deadlines for approval from ow County
Council and Purchasing Department. As a result, the computers were not pwchased.
