Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the County of Hawaii Soard of Appeals:
Counci! District 2 g Mr. Vadta ,4. Cook is a 35-year resident of Hawaii and is the owner-attorney
of the Law Offces of Valta Cook. Mr. Cook's community service inculdes being a member of
the South Hilo Rotary Club, the Hawaii Concert Society, the American Cancer Society, the
Hawaii County Sar Association and he is a past member of the Lehua Jaycees. Mr. Cook
states that he is a member of the Republican Rarty. if confirmed, he wiii serve a term to expire
on December 31, 2007.
C®uncil ®istrict 5 Mr. 1-~uc~o Countadin is a 28-year resident of Hawaii and retired from the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He has served as a former Mayor's
Representative to West Hawaii, an Alu Like consultant and a Firestone Family Constultant.
Mr. Countadin has also sen,~ed on the Stag of Hawaii Tax Soard of Appeals. He states that he
is not affiliated with any political party and if confirmed, will serve a term to expire on
December 31, 2007.
