Traffic Regulation on Private Streets
For your consideration, attached is an amended drafr of Bill No. 68.
This draft will be numbered: Bill No. 68, Draft 5.
Description of changes to Draft 4:
1. Adds language, "and designated by the council," to section 24-2(a)(2)(A).
Reason: This amendment would restore language that was inadvertently left
out of the bill. During the 9/2/98 meeting it was proposed that this
language be restored as a friendly amendment to the bill.

2. Made the following non-substantive technical changes to Draft 4:
a. Sec. 24-2:
Amended "six (6) months" to read, "six months."
Reason: To conform with the 5/1/98 supplement to the Hawaii
County Code.
b. Sec. 24-2:
Capitalized term "County" and converted "chapter" to lower case.
Reason: To conform with the 5/1/98 supplement to the Hawaii
County Code.
c. Deleted section 3 of Draft 4 (contained section 24-8, HCC).
Reason: As the proposed addition ("bad roads exemption") to
section 24-8, HCC, was deleted in draft 4, the bill
proposes no changes to this section and it does not need
to be included in the bill.
