RE: Resolution to support a Veterans Administration (VA) State Home for
long-term veterans care in the County of Hawai' i.
Attached for your favorable consideration is a proposed Resolution No. 32-03 (Draft 2)
that supports the Veterans Administration (VA) State Home for long-term veterans care
to be built in Hilo.
This resolution urges the Hawaii State Legislature to appropriate $16 million for the VA
State Home project to satisfy the VA's requirement that 35% of the anticipated $45
million project be provided by a source other than the federal government.
