Re: Transfer of Funds from Council Contingency Fund
Shirley,
I'm sending you a copy of this request which was approved by our Director, Patricia G.
Englehard and Mayor Harry Kim. Though both have approved the transfer of funds this
request to transfer still has to be approved by the County Council. Rodney Oshiro of
the Legislative Auditor's office has informed me that this will be brought up for approval
at the January 8"' meeting of the Council. I will keep you informed.
From my understanding the event in which these funds will be used is scheduled for
Wednesday, March 5, 2003. Please feel free to call me, 961-8710, or the West Hawaii
Program director, Carol Christianson at 323-3190, for assistance in planning your event.
Since the monies will be transferred to our account, we can advise you on the do's and
don'ts on spending the monies. Thank you for your cooperation and hope to hear from

Re: Transfer of Funds from County Council Contingency Fund
The Kailua Seniors of Hale Halawai will be celebrating the 37`h year of existence
of their senior club this coming year, 2003, on March 5rh by having a special
celebration. Program plans are being organized for this event in conjunction with
the Elderly Activities Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the
Kailua Seniors. The Kailua Seniors have requested funds from the county
council to support this project. Their request was apprgved and we have been
informed by Rodney Oshiro of the Legislative Auditor's office of the availability of
the funds to be transferred into our account.
We are requesting the transfer of funds from the contingency fund to our
account: Department of Parks And Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, Elderly
Recreation Services, 010-500-5519.72-115 account, miscellaneous contract
services. Please call me if there are any questions at 961-8710. Mahalo for your
