Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the County of Hawaii
Liquor Commission.
Council District 3 -Yukio Takeya is a lifelong resident of Hawaii, and is
currently the principal broker for Ala Kai Realty. A few of Mr. Takeya's
community service contributions include the director for Destination Hilo, past
president and auditor for the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of
Hawaii, and past president of the Hawaii Association of Realtors. He states that
he is a member of the Democratic Party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to
expire on December 31, 2007.
Council District 5 -Carl E. Dionne is a 15-year resident of Hawaii. Mr. Dionne
is currently an Information Technology Specialist with the University of Hawaii at
Hilo, Computer Science Department. He is a member of the HGEA and has
served two years as the HGEA team captain for the American Cancer Society's
Relay for Life Walkathon. Mr. Dionne states that he is not affiliated with any
political party, and if confirmed, will serve a term to expire on December 31,
2006.
Council District 3 - Leina ala 8. Enos is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. Ms. Enos
is currently a Community Development Facilitator for the Queen Liliuokalani
Children's Center. She presently serves as a board member with the Naalehu
United Methodist Church, current treasurer for the Hawaiian Civil Club of Ka`u,
and has served in various capacities with the Naalehu Community Club. She
also served as a member of the Naalehu School SCBM. Ms. Enos states that
she is not affiliated with any political party, and if confirmed, will serve a term to /05
expire on December 31, 2007 Comm. No.
