This Agreement ie made and entered imta by and between the Hawaii Department of
Lnnd & Nstural Reaonrces. Dlvialon of Forntrv and Wtldllfe, as a component agency
of tht State of Hawaii, and the Hawaii County Fire Dent, the Grantee. The Division is
awarding the Granke a Yolunteer F1reAssistanee Grant for the specifics listed below
and the Ci~rantee agrees to the following:
The effective date of this Agreement is ~ul~,l. 2002 and expires on June 36•
Q3.
2) The Grant Award amount is 530.000.
3) The Grantee has one (1) year, ac crated above in #1, to complete the project.
4) The money is to be spent only on the purchase of personal protective gear, hoses
and fittings, and other supplies that are allowed under the volumkar Fire
Assistance Program. Purchases that were incurred prior to the effective date of the
Agreement are ineligible for reimbursement
5) The Cnentee promises and agrees to follow all Uae rules and regulations that
governs the Volunteer Fin Asaiatence Program.
6} Should there be eny changes to the Agtix7rtrnt, the t"nantee shall, in writing,
request any changes no latex tl~n 30 days prior to the expiration of this
Agreement.
i) The Grantee will submit a Sub•g~itee Request for Pa, ent form no later them

8) If, for some reason, an extension is needed, the Grantee shall, in writing, request
for an extension no Inter than 30 days prior to the expiration of this Agreemen
9) The Granke promisee end agrees that it will indemnify end hold harmless the
Division and all of the Division's of5cers, agents and employees from any clean,
actiom, damage, lose, liability or expemse directly or indirectly caused by any act
of the Grantee during the period of this Agreement.
l0) This Agreement shall be governed by and comatrued in accordance with laws of
the State of Hawaii.
11) This Agreement, when executed, embodies the entire agreement and
undentandimg between the parties.
