REGARDING: Volcano Village zoning change from residential to CV by Maurice
Thomas
Dear Council Members,
I ask you to deny this proposed zoning change. A warehouse and lumberyard are
not uses designated under CV zoning. They are consistent with uses described
for light industrial. The proposed site lies in the center of Volcano Village on Old
Volcano Rd., an area frequented by tourists, pedestrians, bicyclists,
skateboarders, children and horseback riders.
A light industrial center with its noise and traffic would be more appropriately
located away from residences and tourist activities. With proper planning such a
site could be developed near the village with access from Highway 11 away from
residences thereby preserving the quaint, historic center of Volcano Village for
local residents and tourists alike.
