CONCERNING: Maurice Thomas request for rezoning
I'm not objecting to growth and the need for people wanting to make a living. However,
a warehouse for lumber of this size dons not belong 1n a small Village like Volcano. Especially
if the property is adjacent to residential housing. The ,potential for fire in this area could be
catastrophic to the surrounding community due to limited availability of fire protection in
Volcano Vj]lage,
Such a project needs to be located in an industrial area. Volcano Village is not an industrial
complex.
The County of Hawaii needs to be aware that all of rho responsibilities for any damages due to
fire or tJoodittg resulting from such a structure will lie solely with the County.
If Mr. Thomas wants to build such a large structure for flammable materials, he should construct
it in an area not conducive to potentially harmful and endangerment of neighbors and community
as a whole.
