Dear Chairperson Arakaki and Council Members:
Re: Resolution to support a V eterans Administration (VA) State Home (Res. 32-03)
I'm writing in support of the Resolution to support a Veterans Administration State
Home.
While, presently I am in excellent health and will be 69 in April, single and I live alone.
At my present age, one never knows when I may succumb to illnesses and require long
term caze. As a veteran, [should be eligible for admission to the VA long-term home.
As indicated in Resolution No. 32 03, with four long-term facilities within the Hilo azea
that are operating to near capacity the addition of a VA long-term home would relieve the
burden on these four facilities.
I urge all council members to vote in favor of this resolution. I would also like to thank
Dr. Fred Holschuh for submitting this resolution
