Re: Resolution for amulti-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Hawaii County Police Department to enter into
a multi-year lease for five (5) years for office space for the Kona Driver License Section.
The present location poses a safety and fire hazard to the employees and to the public
and its structure has been deemed irreparable.

A. REQUEST:
To enter into amulti-year lease with Sofos Realty for the Kona Driver License Section.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (~I$E ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)'
The Police Department is requesting to enter into a five (5) lease with Sofos Realty for the Kona Driver License
Section. The lease is for 2000 square feet located at the Kona Center, 75-5722 Hanama Place, Kailua-
Kona. The cost per month for the County is $4,400.00.
It is mandatory for the Kona Driver License Section to relocate to another facility. The present location poses a
safety and fire hazard to the employees and the public. The building had numerous leaks which has resulted
in damage to the building's wiring. The building's structure is extremely unsafe and deemed irreparable by
the County.
