I have been a resident of Keaukaha for 13 years and the property owner
bordering the proposed park at Reed's Bay. I know it is "Politically Incorrect"
to suggest that we have enough parks but I think it is time we have a look at
the: use, cost and necessity of more parks in Hilo. Besides the existing County
Parks we have public access to the OHA Puhi Bay Park adjacent to the State
Public Park area near the breakwater, as you can see by the enclosed maps, the
parks in Hilo almost overlap.
If the intention is preservation of our public costal lands maybe we should
consider General Plan provisions or zoning limitations
