RE: Proposed Bill No. 265, Draft 3
Scenic Corridor Overlay Districts
Attached for your favorable consideration is proposed Bill No. 265, Draft 3, with the following
amendments as discussed at the February 19, 2003 Planning Committee meeting:
1. To be consistent throughout the document, Scenic Corridor Overlay District and
Corridor Management Plan have been spelt out.
2. The other amendments include housekeeping matters:
• Page 1. Second paragraph. Deletes the sentence "The permitted uses
defined by the underlying zoning classification will remain in place."
• Page 1. Second paragraph. Replaces the word "However" with "These".
• Pagc 2. Section 25-6-61. Deletes the colon and inserts the phrase "meets
the following criteria:"
• Page 2 (d) and (e) Inserts "/or"
• Page 3. Section 25-6-63. Deletes part of the first sentence and the second
sentence "without changing the applicability of the underlying zoning.
The Scenic Corridor Overlay District may encompass one or more
underlying zones and serves to provide additional conditions and standards
above those required by the wlderlying zones." and replaces it with
"classifications and may encompass one or more underlying zones."
• Pagc 3. Section 25-6-63. Inserts "conditions and standards" into the next
sentence. Deletes "in the Overlay District". Replaces the word "defined"
with "established". Replaces "G,nabling Ordinance" with lower case (~y~ p

• Page 4. (c) Inserts "This notice shall contain the elements in section
(a)(1)(2)(3)(5) and deletes item (d). Renumbers (e) to (d)
• Page 4. new item (d). Deletes "if initiated by the plamiing director" and
inserts the word "proposed" in two places before the words "enabling
ordinance".
• Page 5. Items (6) (7) and (8). Replaces the word "Strategy" with
"Strategies".
• Page 5. Item (1 1) Expands the language to read "Specific time schedules
for plan implementation."
• Page 5. Item (13) Inserts "and protecting" into the sentence.
• Page 7. Section 25-6-66. Replaces the word "Enabling" with lower case
"enabling".
