Please review the following language which proposes to amend Condition R of Bill No. 39, Draft
3:
[To address community concerns over speeding at Nani Kailua Drive,] The applicant
shall provide afour-way stop [shall he installed ]condition at the [intersection of Nani Kailua
Drive and Kakalina Street.] Nani Kailua/Kakalina Street intersection under the guidance of a
licensed engineer within 90 days from the effective date of this ordinance. The impact of this
improvement shall be evaluated by [the Department of Public Works] a licensed engineer in
consultation with the Kona Traffic Safety Committee for asix-month period. At that time the
[Department of Public Works] licensed engineer will report to the Council to determine if the
improvement will remain. Should the study find that the 4-waxstop is not warranted the
a~nlicant shall restore the intersection to its original condition.
