RE: Hawan County Police Department -Budget Meeting
Dear Mr. Chung:
The purpose for this letter is to inform you that 1 have met with Mayor Kim on several
occasions regazding Article 18, of the SHOPO Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
On Februiary 25, 2003, in my most recent meeting with the Mayor, I asked for an
increase in our motor vehicle allowance. The Mayor has been presented with all ofthe
pertinent information on this matter, and I assume has forwazded the same to the Chief of
Police. I am wncerned that the line items which the Hawan County Policc Department
has proposed may not include this differential-
R'e support the budget that will be presented by the Hawaii County Police Department,
as long as the language includes the reyuesl for an increase in vehicle allowance. Please
feel free to contact me if you should have any questions or concerns. I can he reach at
#936-8820. [will also attend the budget hearing set for March 14, 2003, to observe the
discussion pertaining to this matter. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Emory J. Sprenger
Hawaii Chapter Chairman
