Re: Resolution Transferring Funds
Enclosed is a resolution transferring $500,000 out and from the Provision for
Compensation Adjustment account and credited to the Worker's Compensation account.
The increased worker's compensation costs are due to aggressive worker's compensation
claims management and to case settlement and closures.
There are funds available in the Provision for Compensation Adjustment account as not all
funds budgeted is needed by the various departments.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Department of Civil
Service.

A. REQUEST:
Requesting a transfer of $500,000 to supplement the Worker's Compensation General Fund Account.
Budget Note: Funds to come from the Provision for Compensation Adjustment Account.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Aggressive workers' compensation claims management, and case settlement and closure has increased the
workers' compensation costs. The workers' compensation general fund account oversees claims payments
for approximately 462 open claims.
There are additional funds available in the Provision for Compensation Adjustment
account as not all funds budgeted were needed by the various departments.
