Dear Councilman Tyler.
W e would like to inform you of our endorsement of the West Hawaii Civic Center bond
proposal. We believe that the centralization of services makes financial sense ($SOOk a
year in lease expenses) and would be a signal to all West Hawaii residents that we do
have a voice in county politics.
We would also request that you support any county based legislation regulating the cruise
industry. We cannot allow them to dump their waste in our ocean waters. Our reef
ecosystem is much too fragile, and we must take all steps to protect it for future
generations.
