RE: William Silva, et. al. v. County of Hawaii, et. al.
CIV. NO. 97-622
The Office of the Corporation Counsel requests the above case be placed on the
next Council agenda for attorney-client discussion is executive (closed) session.
This request is made pursuant to Sections 92-5(a)(4) and (8), Hawaii Revised
Statutes, as amended, and is made for the reason we anticipate discussion
regarding documents which contain confidential communications between
special counsels and their respective clients. The legal billings submitted to our
office and which will be provided to the Council contain such information, and
disclosure is prohibited by court rule (the Hawaii Rules of Professional
Responsibility).
Further, we anticipate fielding questions from the Council regarding the Council's
powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities.
