SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO BILL 67 - 3RD INCREMENT OF FUEL TAX INCREASE
AS ESTABLISHED BY RESOLUTIONS NOS. 192-97 AND 241-98
Forwarded for your consideration is a revision to Exhibit "A." The revision deletes the Komohana Street
Wideninz & Extension project and adds the Kuakini Highway Widening (Hualalai to Alii Highway
project to the FHWA Road Improvement Program category of the Exhibit.
Although the Komohana Street project was part of Increments I and 2, it is a low priority project that
has not been included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and is ineligible
to receive FHWA funds at this time. However, a funding request for planning and design funds for the
Kuakini Highway project has been submitted to the State of Hawaii for inclusion into the FY2004-06
STIP.
Your favorable consideration of this amendment to the subject bill will be sincerely appreciated.
