CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITF,MS ON THE AGENDA REFERRALS Comm. 126: APPROPRIA"FION OF FUNDS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003-2004 From Finance Director William Takaba, dated February 6.2003. transmitting the above applications from qualifying organizations and a list showing amounts requested for review and appropriation of funds for Fiscal Year 2003-2004. Comm. 126.2: From Frank Wandell, dated March 20, 2003, opposing the use of tax dollars fbr nonprofit organizations. Instead, states the County should fulfill its primary responsibilities of providing roads, clean parks and minimal effective public services without raising taxes every few years. Comm. 126.3: From Committee on Human Services and Economic Development Chair Fred C I lolschuh, M.U., dated March 28, 2003, submitting the recommendations for the FY 2003-2004 nonprofit grant appropriations, pursuant to Communication 126 from Finance Director William Takaba. As Human Services and Economic Development Committee Chair, he is recommending that the Council grant FY 03-04 appropriations to all recurring grantees in the identical amounts as made during the past fiscal year. This action would appropriate $895,000 of the $900.000 available for County grants. He is recommending that the remaining $5,000 be apportioned between the Boy's and Girl's Club ($2,000) and the (new applicant) North Kohala Community Resource Center ($3,000).
