SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
KAWAIHAE ROAD, (ROUTE 19)
PROPOSED SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION
We received a request to lower [he existing 35 mile per hour speed limit on portions of Kawaihae
Road, to 30 miles per hour. Purpose of the speed reduction is to improve overall traffic safety
along Kawaihae Road, from Lindsey Road to an area where Kawaihae Road enters State
jurisdiction.
The South Kohala "fraffc Safety Committee concurs and is supportive of our efforts to improve
traffic safety along this section of Kawaihae Road.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you
