County Council Member Leningrad Elarionoff
Please do not vote for the resolution encouraging the U.S. to stop military operations.
Americans are waking up and llE M ~~V llINU THAT Olin elected officials, state a PR0-AMERICA STANCE.
Just look at the rallies held in Honolulu on (13129/03 & 03/30/03 & 4/12/03 to support our president and our
troops.
I would like to point out that we didnY elect the county council to make statements on national foreign policy.
You were elected to worry about such things as potholes, business licensing, zoning issues, the traffic flow and
street cleaning- The citizens will be reminded about your position on this in the next election, because we will
make sure they do. I hope that our county council does not act in such an inappropriate and inflammatory
manner as to assert that their opinion is the official opinion of our county.
.Also, 1've read that certain places that have voted for these resolutions are experiencing an economic backlash in
the form of cancellation of events, cancellation of tourism plans, etc. Something you should be aware of, I
think. This will be reported on the internal at such sites as FreeRepubliacom which we now know has a huge
readership.
To those pushing a radical leftist resolution against the war:
Remember who tours Hawaii...
It's not collegiate peaceniks with disposable income...
It's not 60's retread peaceniks living in communes...
It's people who work 6-7 days a weak and come to Hawaii to relax, and forget all the BS of their daily lives for
u time.
Take a long hard look at the Dixie Chicks. Then realize that should you vote against our President, (of which
the President, ironically, is the Commander in Chief, thus also one of the troops) our islands tourism industry
will sink in like manner to the Titanic.
Bet on it.
