Council Members;
I am writing to support the formation of a committee or advisory board to provide citizen
input for the Pohakuloa Training Area. The military in Hawaii has a long history of not
doing their homework in terms of cleaning up their test azeas, sufficient enough to make
them safe. It is very important that a proper Environmental Impact Study be done, with
specific attention to the testing of cluster bombs. It is my feeling the public be informed
of the potential dangers of such testing and allowed to have input into decisions that
effect the quality of life on this and other islands.
If not the citizens of this island, then who should have input on this and other issues. I
can think of no sound or logical reason the members of this council would appose citizen
input such an important issue. Please give this resolution cazefixl consideration as we all
have a vested interest in what the military does in our back yazd.
Sincerely,
William B. Snorgrass
Secretary -Hawaii For Peace
