1 would like to voice my opposition to Resolution 56-03. 1 do not want the County to
speak on my behalf or for all of the others Iike me who want to sae the Iregl people
free. If any committee members oppose the ~'Iregi Freedom" campaign for the seMlsh
reasons quoted in this resolution they are free to voice their own opinions. Where
would the world be ten years from now if we allowed 8addam to continue to develop
his weapons4
With his expansionist dreams 8addam has already attacked four of his neighbors. 1
am a veteren of two wars including WWII. Before WWII cowardty nations tried to
negotiate with Adolf Hitler, thus allowing him to build up his forces until it was
impossible to stop him. Millions of people died because of the inaction of these
cowardly nations.
Iraq) people have Ilved in tenor and fear for thirty yeare and Saddam has already
killed hundrods of thousands of people. He tortures small childron in front of their
parerrts if the parents do not agree with him. That government has to be removed
and there is absolutety no way to do it except forcibty. It can be seen on TV news
how happy the Iraqi people are to finalty get their freedom. Let us not now try to
take it away from them.
And neither do 1 want the Hawaii County clerk to transmit copies of this resolution to
our president, George W. Bush; Majority Leader Bill Frist; Speaker of the Mouse,
Dennis Hastert; the UN Secretary generel Kofi Annan nor to any one else.
Speak for youroslves if you choose, but not for me.
