Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed Ms. May E. Lake of Council
District 6 to the Mayor's Committee on the Status of Women.
Ms. Lake is a 19-year resident of Hawaii and is currently employed by the
University of Hawaii, Hilo, as a Program Director for the Women's Center, Office
of Student Affairs. She has been with the YWCA and is an active member of the
AARP. Ms. Lake states that she is not affiliated with any political party. She will
replace Ms. Lori Cannon whose term has expired, and will serve a term to expire
on December 31, 2006.
