SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
Banyan Drive - Proposed Freight and Passenger Loading Zone
We received a request to authorize a freight and passenger loading zone along
Banyan Drive fronting the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. The retailers, who lease the
cabanas from the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, need a loading zone for their
deliveries. The Hilo Hawaiian Hotel management supports this request and we
have no objections from the other businesses.
We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-288,
Schedule 36, Freight Loading Zones under South Hilo be amended as described in
the attached draft for an ordinance. A location map is attached.
Under separate cover, we are transmitting the proposed ordinance to the Public
Works Committee Chair for introduction.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject
