From Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 29.2003, informing the Council he has
appointed Ms. May E. Lake of Council District 6 to the Mayor's Committee on the
Status of Women. Ms. Lake is a 19-year resident of Hawaii and is currently
employed by the University of Hawaii at Hilo as a Program Director for the
Women's Center, Office of Student Affairs. Not affiliated with any political party, if
confirmed, she will serve a term to expire December 31, 2006, replacing Ms. Lori
Cannon, whose term has expired.

From Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 30, 2003, informing the Council he has
appointed Mr. Lawrence A. Scadden of Council District 7 to the Mayor's Committee
on People with Disabilities. Mr. Scadden is a 9-month resident of Hawaii and is
retired from the National Science Foundation as Senior Program Director for the
Program for Persons with Disabilities. Not affiliated with any political party. he will
serve a term co-terminus with the Mayor, replacing Mr. James [ieimborn, who
resigned.
