SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT (BILL NO. 240)
Fern Acres Subdivision (Private)
Proposed Speed Limits and Stop Intersections
The subject bill was deferred in committee on August 22, 1996.
Request that bill number 240 be withdrawn from further action. The County recently adopted ordinance
number 98-97, clarifying the State law enabling the counties to impose and enforce traffic regulations on
private streets. Based on this ordinance, the Department of Public Works, Traffic Division, submitted a
bill for a traffic code amendment to establish separate schedules for public and private streets.
We will contact and work with the Fern Acres representative to resubmit a new bill for their subdivision
after the ordinance separating the schedules for public and private streets is adopted.
