Dear Members,
In January 1997 a survey question was sent to all property owners of lots within Fern
Acres Subdivision asking whether they supported Bill #240. The County Council had
requested this to be done so that a consensus of all the property owners would be known.
Of these 1529 surveys sent out 526 were returned. The results were 421 YES 105 NO,
which is 4:1 in favor of supporting Bi11240. With this support by property owners for a
safe 25-MPH speed limit we are asking the County Council to again put this bill up for
consideration for passage. Can the Council consider this matter at the eazliest possible
date?
Please inform me if and when this can be put on the Councils agenda.
Enclosed you will find a copy of the survey question.
Thank you,
Hank Schultz

~ A bill is now pending at the County Council to legalize a 25 M.P.H. speed
I limit within Fern Acres. Bill number 240 will authorize the County to enforce a legal
I speed limit and stop sign intersections within our subdivision. At present, there is
i no enforceable speed limit or legal stop signs in Fern Acres. Bill 240 only involves
speed limits and stop intersections. It DOES NOT APPLY to enforcement of
motor vehicle licensing or equipment laws!!!
QUESTION:
Should the Fern Acres Community Association push for the passage of Bill
240, to establish a 25 M.P.H. speed limit within Fern Acres, and establish the legal
enforcement of stop sign intersections within Fern Acres?
