RE: Support ~~f Bill 260
Smoking in Certain Places
I am writing in the behalf of myself and the teens of REAL, a statewide youth movement
against tobacco use. We would like the right to be able to make a choice. To breathe or
not to breathe, the bad air which comes from public smoking.
RF,AI, has been created through ideas created by teens three years ago. It's vision is to
"Create an empowered, smoke-free generation of youth" and one of its missions is to
educate, rop tect• and empower our generation.
U'e arc in support of Bill 260, to be able to ensure us of a healthier, smoke-free
workplace, school grounds, and public places.
1t gives our youth the chuice to be able to work in a smoke-free environment, to be able
to go to school knowing that the ground keepers, cafeteria workers, and security guards
are not smoking behind the cafeteria building, and to be able to walk ntto the mall and/or
grocery store x~ithout passing through a cloud of smoke before entering.
Thank you for your time and efforts towards making a difference to have a healthier
Hawaii.
