RE. ROADS IN LIMBO COUNTY + IF HAWAN
Dear Councilman Holschuh,
We are writing this letter to ask for your help to get our road fixed. Our farm is mauka of Kapehu Camp in
Papaaloa Hgmesteads on Pahale Road. Pahale Road is a public road that dead ends at the bottom of our
property, which is TMK (3)-3-5-001:55. We and our neighbors have repeatedly eomacted the County to try
to get them to maintain our road, but they've told us that our road 1s cotuidsred one of the ROARS IN
LIMBO. Would you please help us to resolve this problem?
?hc only way to got to our farmstead is by four wheel drive vehicle over an extremely rutted, washed out
road. in an etmrgency it would be very difficuk, if sot impossibly for a fee truck or ambulance to getzo
our house. Also, rite poor conditieo of the public roads in au neighborhood severety Irmits our ability to
tun our farm profitnbly. Fedex and UPS won't deliver to our home because of the poor condition of the
road. Also, it's difficuh to get workers to come to our faun because they need a 4WD vehicle to get here. I
the roads is our neighborhood were in better wndition, it would make it easier for us sad our neighbors to
develop our farms, thus generating jobs and tax revenue for the state and courrty.
Fixing and maintaining the roads which were abandoned by the former sugar cane plantations will be a
good investment for all of the people of the state of Hawaii. Aetter roads will cnrnurage landowners to
develop profitable farms, businesses and homesteads on lands that are now vacerrt This will increase tax
revenues and create jobs in the building and agriwltural sectors which should positively stimulate our
ecotromy
