COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. SO 03
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE PUBLIC SEWER TO
KALANI STREET FOR TANTE AND ARACELI URBAN, AT KAILUA-KONA,
HAWAII
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
WHEREAS, applicants Tante and Araceli Urban have requested
to extend the sewer in accordance with Section 21-26, Hawaii
County Code; and
WHEREAS, applicants Tante and Araceli Urban have proposed
to comply with Section 21-28(a), Hawaii County Code regarding
payment of costs; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Environmental Management has
recommended approval of the extension; and
WHEREAS, Attachment "A" is an application from Tante and
Araceli Urban with construction plans as supporting
documentation; and
WHEREAS, sewer extensions are beneficial to the community
by eliminating existing cesspools and reducing the amount of
pollutants reaching the groundwater and the coastal waters,
resulting in a cleaner, healthier environment; and
WHEREAS, Section 21-26, Hawaii County Code, requires that
the council approve all sewer extensions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the sewer extension to Kalawa Street for
Tante and Araceli Urban is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii transmits copies of this resolution to the Departments
of Finance, Public Works and Environmental Management.

Dear Barbara:
Pursuant to the Hawaii County Code, Division 4 "Extension", Section 2l -26
"Application for extensions". We are requesting construction of a sewer extension from the
south end of Kalawa Street approximately 110 feet long to the north. We are currently planning
improvements to ow property for a three story, seven unit apartment building.
We wish to comply with section 21-28 (a), whereas we will construct the sewer extension for
the County and in return, receive stated benefits from the County for the stated period of time.
