These funds, donated as part of Wal-Mart Kona's community involvement program, will be used towards the purchase of educational materials to be distributed to the public in commemoration of Fire Prevention Week, October 5 -11, 2003. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the $600 monetary donation into the Fire Department's Fire Protection OCE account. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)' Wal-Mart Kona, as part of their communicty involvement program has donated $600 to the Hawaii County Fire Department. The funds are earmakred for purchase of educational materials to be distributed to the public in commemoration of Fire Prevention Week, October 5 -11, 2003. Wal-Mart has now donated a total of $1,200 to the Fire Department in 2003. A $600 donation from Wal-Mart Hilo was received in February as per Resolution 46-03 and Ordinance No. 03-59.
